Fragment of Medieval to post-medieval copper alloy purse bar, rectangular central boss (31 x 17mm, 9.5mm thick) with vertical perforation containing a swivelling bar at the end of a broken suspension-loop with an oval rove at the foot (extant height 28mm), both faces of the boss have an engraved line bordering the sides and upper edge, flanked by and two triangular cut-outs in base. Unidentified heavily cast copper-alloy object, which resembles part of the lower horizontal bar from a massive drop handle, with a prominent transverse moulding formed from a large square-sectioned rib (15 x 15mm) flanked by two smaller ribs. Broken on one side, the other sides/arm tapering to a short upright, which is a convex-sided blunt point (apparently unbroken, height 10.5mm). Extant length 55.5mm. Weighs 45.31g.
