Incomplete Roman copper alloy plate brooch of Umbonate or Domed boss type, Mackreth 2011, British type 6.e (see plate 109, no.11166), hinge of pin (shank missing) contained within twin lugs on the reverse of the broken upper lobe, much of the grooved outer flange missing, lobe at base with single ring-and-dot, broken catchplate on reverse. The sixteen radiating triangular cells on the boss are inlaid with alternating white, red, blue and black enamel. Diameter (excluding lobes) 36mm. Surviving length from lug to lug 42.5mm. Height of boss 10mm. 2nd century.

Incomplete copper alloy tinned Roman Dolphin brooch, corroded. It has tubular wings with pairs of alternating broad and narrow grooves on both sides, pin-slot and much iron corrosion, remains of at least five horizontal grooves on broken bow. The foot and catchplate are missing. 33 x (at least)23mm.

Incomplete copper alloy Roman figurine, cast in the form of an eagle, with wings spread (one missing) and a fragment of iron in the slot between the feet (one side missing). The decoration comprises oblique engraved lines visible on the head and around the neck forming a chevron pattern, lines and notches delineating feathers on the wings, tail and above the cast talons and lines of punched dots on back. Length 45mm (beak to tail), height 25mm.
The eagle is often associated with Jupiter in classical art.
