Incomplete post-medieval tinned copper alloy buckle. Just over half of double-oval frame, one loop missing, trefoil moulding at either end of narrowed bar, fleur-de-lis moulding in centre of surviving outside edge. Pin missing. See Whitehead (2003), 64 - 5, no.393, 403 and 404 for examples with similar mouldings. Extant length 25mm. Width 25mm. 16th - 17th century.

Medieval copper alloy composite folding clasp, deep cut-sheet rectangular frame (length 16mm, width 14mm), separate narrow copper alloy bar, folding end missing. Slightly trapezoidal plate (length 28.5mm, width 14mm), recessed for frame and with a single copper alloy rivet at attachment-end. The face is decorated with three incised circles, each containing a cruciform arrangement of five dots. Combined length 40mm. See Egan and Pritchard 1991, fig.78, nos. 564-6. Later 13th-14th century.

Incomplete medieval copper alloy buckle: perforated ends of missing frame surviving on a separate pin, copper alloy wire pin; rectangular sheet plate with pin slot, frame recesses, single copper alloy rivet at attachment-end. Length 16.5mm. Width 14.5mm. Post-Roman buckle frames with separate bars are uncommon. Cf. a large flimsy example from a mid 14th-century context in York (Ottaway and Rogers 2002, 2893-4, fig. 1469 no. 14099). Probably 14th or 15th century.
