Treasure Cases 2010 T98 and 2010 T531 This small Constantinian nummus hoard of 72 coins was found during autumn / winter 2009, along with one later nummus and one radiate. The solitary Theodosian bronze is probably best understood as a stray intruder. The early debased radiate could have been part of the hoard as they have been occasionally found in mid-Constantinian nummus hoards. 74 coins were found in total. The first group of 21 coins (2010 T98) was found in Autumn 2009. An addenda of 53 coins was found during August - September 2010. These were in a very corroded and fragmentary…

Treasure case : 2008 T622 2 AR denarii & 1441 BI radiates and associated material This report will consider these coins with respect to the criteria laid down in the Treasure Act (1996): Namely, their age, precious metal content and whether the coins can be said to come from the same find. The coins range in date from AD 253-296, with the exception of much earlier coins of Commodus (AD 180-92) and Severus Alexander (AD 222-35) which is are rare survivals by this period but not unheard of for hoards of this type. TREASURE CASE : 2008 T531. 75 Roman Silver, 10 Roman Bronze coins and a pot sherd All of the coins were found within an area of 30 x 30 yards; some coins were on the surface with others at a maximum depth of nine inches. Also discovered was a whitish-grey sherd (wt. 36.96g) from the base of a small jar, which had probably once been the container for the coins. (Pots associated with coin hoards are usually buried upright - once smashed by plough activity the base of the pot stands the best chance of survival.) The coins were issued by the following Roman emperors (groupe…
