Post Medieval (mid 16th to 17th centuries) dress hook: The body of the dress hook is sub-circular in plan with moulded rose decoration. The reverse of the body is slightly concave and undecorated. The upper edge of the body has an integral rectangular loop. The loop allows the dress hook to be stitched to the garment. Integral to the lower edge of the body is the hook which is curled towards the reverse of the hook. The surface of the dress hook has abraded mid green coloured surface. Roman (c.AD 43 - 410) copper alloy bell shaped stud, probably a furniture fitting: The stud comprises a circular disc with a flat upper surface featuring a low-relief V'shaped groove. The reverse of the disc is convex with an integral shaft at the apex. The shaft is broken, but not recently, near the stud head. The metal has a mid brown-green patina and is worn. The object is 13.59mm in diameter, 6.37mm thick and weighs 2.79g. Bell Shaped Studs are a multi-purpose form of artefact, commonly found on sites in Britain dating to the Roman period.
