3 sherds of Samian ware (Terra Sigillata). 2 sherds have an oxidised orange fabric with conchoidal fracturing. The red slip coating is orangey red and glossy. The remaining sherd is pinkish red with frequent white inclusions . There are no surfaces remaining on the sherd. All are undiagnostic body sherds. Probably from the central Gaulish manufacturing sites of Lezoux and Les Martres-de-Veyre. All the sherds are abraded and small.

13 sherds of Black Burnished ware. Grey to black reduced fabric (one sherd is oxidised reddish brown) wtih abundant rounded quartz sand temper. The surfaces are generally burnished. Poole/Wareham fabric. All the sherds are slightly abraded. The vessels were handmade.The group comprises (using the Wessex Archaeology (WA) Greyhound Yard Excavations type series where possible):
1 rim sherd from a "dog-dish" (WA type 20).
1 rim sherd from a flanged bowl. (WA type 24). The flange is slightly dropped below the rim.

They are greyish in colour with slightly lighter, buff coloured, exterior surfaces. They are tempered with plentiful fine mica, occasional red-brown iron ore (<2mm) and rare quartz pieces (<2mm).

An earthenware rim shard, of Medieval date (probably 12th to 14th century). Slightly curved rim, probably from a cooking pot or similar vessel. The fabric is fairly soft and sandy in texture. It is has a grey inner core and buff outer surfaces. It is tempered with fairly common fine mica, medium amounts of sub-rounded quartz (<2mm) and possibly some fairly sparse fragments of dark coloured iron ore (<2mm).
