A fragment of copper alloy strip bow brooch. A section of the flat, tapering bow, catchplate and incomplete head only remaining. At the head is a v-shaped notch separating the tabs that would have folded over to form the wings for the missing axis bar and hinged pin. Corrosion under the copper alloy tabs suggests an iron axis bar. The bow tapers towards a pointed foot with the remnant of the catchplate at the rear. The front and rear are corroded with a dark green patina and appear undecorated. The brooch has a flat, rectangular cross section. Date: Late Iron Age to Early Roman - c. AD
