An incomplete and highly abraded fragment from a copper alloy blade of Bronze Age date. The small fragment that survives is sub-triangular in plan and oval shaped in section. It has heavily abraded and broken edges, and is missing the tip and remainder of the blade due to old breaks. The surfaces have a dark brown patina as well as a few small areas that demonstrate pale green copper alloy corrosive products. An incomplete copper alloy flat axehead of Early Bronze Age date. The axe is small, plain and flat with a lenticular long profile and a broad blade. It has a narrow butt that has a large semi-circular perforation that is probably the result of a casting flaw rather than a deliberate break or post-depositional damage. The blade end is slightly blunt and the entire axe head has a dark green patina with very small patches of copper alloy corrosive products. The axe measures 71.33mm in length, 48.23mm in width, 9.16mm in thickness (at the middle), and weighs 133.22g. This flat axe is a…

The butt end of an ovate or pointed hand-axe of Lower Palaeolithic date. The flint is dark grey in colour and has deep medium brown coloured staining on the surfaces and on the breaks, suggesting that the breaks are ancient. It has fine, shallow bifacial flaking on all surfaces leaving just three small areas of cortex visible. There is little evidence of rolling and no evidence of ploughmarks suggesting recent disturbance. The axe measures 96.31mm in length, 79.55mm in width, 30.35mm in thickness, and weighs 221.86g. A fragment from a copper-alloy knife blade of Middle or Late Bronze Age date. The majority of the knife is missing due to old breaks, and all that remains is a small section of the blade with missing exterior edges and worn surfaces. It is lozenge shaped in section with slightly concave surfaces, the remains of possible curved shoulders suggesting it is from just below the butt of the blade. Dtr. Colin Pendleton (pers. comm.) suggests this is from a Bronze Age knife rather than a larger dirk, dagger, rapier or sword. The fragment measures 20.95mm in length, 22.23mm in width, 5.87mm in …
