Copper alloy brooch, Hattatt's "bird in flight" type. Damaged catchplate, chain loop, bird head and generally abraded edges; enamel missing. The pin is hinged between two close set lugs behind the tail. The body, wings and tail of the bird are on a flat-based plate. A small chain loop projects from the tail, which has two enamelled cells (now discoloured and largely missing). The wings also have largely empty enamelled cells. Copper alloy brooch, flat hexagonal or disc form with projections. Missing pin, damaged edges, very corroded. The pin was hinged between two close set lugs. The plate is about 1.5mm thick. At the centre is the remains of a rivet in a 1.5mm diameter hole. Around this the surface is raised irregularly, perhaps as the basis for an applique. The outer band is very slightly concave. The outline was probably a circle but the six (originally, now three) small projections have caused it to corrode into a hexagon. Copper alloy brooch fragment, lion bow type. Part of the upper bow only, corroded surfaces. This is the "lion-shaped" element of the bow, with square rivet attached to a sheet fragment from the lower bow. The stylised animal shape is conveyed by transverse mouldings and a hole at the top on the break represents the division between the lions back legs below the join to the spring cover. Surviving length 24mm, width at lower bow junction 10mm. As Hattatt no.280. The lion bow type is related to the Rosette series and Continental in origin.

Copper alloy brooch, Aucissa type. Missing pin, extremely corroded (and cleaned), damaged margins, hinge, foot, catchplate. The top of the bow is a broader flat plate. The main bow has a strong broad centre rib flanked by concave mouldings and tapering to a point, with a strong curve in profile. Surviivng width at hinge 15mm, surviving length 49mm. Aucissa/Hod Hill types mostly arrive at the Conquest, although the Aucissa is earlier in date.
