The base from a Roman grayware (GX) wheelmade vessel. The fabric is light grey in colour with slightly oxidised outer surface and margin. It is tempered with plentiful fine mica, poorly sorted rounded and angular quarz (<2mm) and occasional small flint fragments (<1mm). The base and outer surface is sooted in places. The base has curved, parallel lines on its outer surface from where it was removed from the wheel. Judith Plouviez (per. com.) suggests that it may be of 2nd century or later date. A fragment of a Roman glass vessel. The fragment comes from the vessel's rim, which is broad with a narrow opening. Its profile, seen in the break, shows that it was formed from being folded outwards, upwards and then inwards again. The glass is a light blue-green in colour. Its size compared to the narrow opening suggests that it may have come from a small flask or bottle similar to the globular bath flasks discussed by Price and Cottam (1998, 188-90), which have been found in 1st to mid-3rd century contexts across England and Wales. It is missing one lug and a suspension bar while the pin is hinged on two remaining lugs. A incomplete copper-alloy Anglo-Saxon strap end of Gabor Thomas Class A, type 2 (Thomas 2003, 2-3, fig 1, no 5). It has convex sides, the attachment end is split with two rivets, there is an incised fan-shaped motif below this. There is then a main panel with horizontal border grooves running down its longitudinal edges, which is decorated within with incised interlace. The terminal is incomplete with the remains of a pierced hole surviving through its centre, any zoomorphic terminal which may have been present originally is now missing. 37.5mm in length, 16mm wide.

An incomplete copper-alloy strap end of Thomas Class A type 5 (Thomas 2003, 3-4, fig 1 no 11). The strap end is convex sided and has an incomplete attachment end there is a central longitudinal rectangular panel with niello and scrolls of silver wire surviving. It tapers into a zoomorphic terminal of mouse/ bat like form. The snout of the terminal is rounded above which possible eyes of punched dots are present. The strap end is 30.5mm in length and 11mm wide.

An incomplete copper-alloy Roman enamelled disc brooch. The pin, spring and lugs are all missing from the reverse. A five armed wavy motif surrounds a central dot. The dot is empty, red enamel is present in the motif and a pale blue enamel is present in the outer area (similar design to Hattat,R. 1987: p171). The brooch is 20mm in diameter.

A probable complete copper-alloy Anglo-Saxon toilet set. There is a complete expanding ring with a implement attached. The pointed implement begin has a tapering shaft, a third of the way down there is a double collar from which the shaft flattens into a diamond-shaped section it then tapers into a point at the terminal end. The ring and pointed implement are both encrusted in iron corrosion suggesting a further iron object was perhaps originally attached. The toilet article is 32.5mm in length and 16.5mm wide.

The mount is flat and originally circular-shaped (original total diameter would have been c47.5mm), with only a section of the outer band and inner decoration remaining. The border has an outer band of three-strand incised circumferencial grooves. The inner decoration contains three-strand interlace, in a continuous running interlace ribbon pattern. This is style II. A complete gilded silver dress or cap hook, of Tudor date. This hook has a small plate, which has a moulded front face and appears to represent a trefoil leaf. Projecting from and soldered to the back face of this plate there is a complete hook, which is bent into an S-shape and tapers to a point. The precious metal content of this hook fulfils the requirements of the Treasure Act in that it is greater than 10 %, however this object was found pre 1996 and is not treasure under the previous Treasure Trove Law. An incomplete copper-alloy Roman vessel lid handle in the shape of a bird, possibly a duck. The legs and end of the beak are incomplete due to old breaks. The bird has a pointed oval-shaped three dimensional solid cast body with a flat underside. The neck projects from the body at not quite a 90 degree angle. The head is small and rounded with a tapering beak. The eye sockets are deeply recessed, one having a trace of enamel or glass present. An incomplete copper-alloy Anglo-Saxon hooked tag. The circular plate is damaged on one side. The front plate has three perforations and one incised dot spaced roughly evenly across the surface the the incised dot closest to the hook. Double incised borders surround the perforations and dot. Between the plate and the hook there is a projecting collar, below which it tapers into the hook which curves backwards. The tip is missing. 23mm in length, 12.5mm in width
