A post-medieval anonymous issue 'ship penny' jetton of the ship/ orb type, struck at Nuremburg and dating to c.1525. Mitchiner comments (1988, 376) 'The small aberrant group of 'ship penny' jetons with the Imperial orb as their reverse design shows the presence of well executed designs combined with fictitious inscriptions. In respect of such features they appear to belong about mid way through the sequence of anonymous 'ship penny' jetons, hence the suggested date of circa 1525'. Reference: Mitchiner 1187 et seq.

An incomplete and bent post-medieval copper alloy rose/ orb jetton issued by Wolf Lauffer I (Master 1554-1601), AN GOTES SEGEN IS ALS GE type, minted at Nuremberg and dating to 1583-1601. A section of the coin is missing, broken at a bend, between 12 and 4 o'clock to the obverse. The jetton appears to have been bent into an S-shape in profile, perhaps as a love token.
