Fragment of post medieval silver hooked tag Circumstances of discovery: While searching with a metal detector Description: Fragment of silver post medieval hooked tag, 11mm long. The end with the hook extending is rounded and 11mm wide. The hook extends 5.5mm and is circular in section, diameter 1.25mm narrowing to a point. Probably 16th century in date. Dimensions and metal content: Measures 11x11x0.5mm and weighs 0.42g. The precious metal content of the mount fulfils the requirements of the Treasure Act in that it is greater than 10%.

A silver, sexfoil-belt mount in the shape of a flower. The hole at its centre is designed to take a rivet by which means it was fixed to a leather strap. Similar base-metal finds are recorded in G Egan and F Pritchard, Dress Accessories c. 1150 - c. 1450 (London, 1991), pp.186-9.
