A fragment of a medieval copper alloy handle attachment plates, probably from a skimmer, dating from c. AD 1400 - 1450. The plates are rectangular with rounded corners, with a rounded projection at one end. One plate has a rounded ridge running down the centre, along the ridge the plate is broken and fragile. At the wider edge there is are two rounded rivets in each corner. The other plate is the same shape, at the narrower end there is a second plate on top. This is held on by four circular rivets.
