Terminal of a silver bracelet in the form of a snake's head, extremely crudely worked. The head is entirely devoid of decoration, apart from a pair of circular indents to form the eyes; on one side there is an additional indent for reasons that are unclear. Date: possibly Roman, but snake bracelets of Roman date are not normally so crudely worked. Note: this item is probably more than 300 years old and composed of more than 10% precious metal so may qualify as treasure as stipulated in the Treasure Act 1996. Roman silver finger ring of 'Brancaster' type, complete although heavily squashed. The ring consists of a wide flat hoop which expands slightly towards to the bezel; in profile, the ring would originally have been circular. The shoulders are each decorated with a neatly incised and punched design of curves, rings and semi circular motifs all set within an incised double-line triangular 'pediment'. A fragment of a Roman silver spoon, Only the circular bowl and the offset survive; the handle is missing in its entirety. The bowl is largely intact, with some damage to the outer edge, where the metal isvery thin and warped; it has a solid sub rectangular offset with a short projection towards the bowl. The rings internal diameter is very small, so it was probably meant for a child or a petite woman. Roman silver finger ring, ovular hoop with flattened bezel and smoothly swelling profile. There is an ovular setting which spans the bezel, the stone is missing. There is a crack running across the bezel, and the bottom of the hoop is broken, although the hoop is complete. The ring is small, so was probably for a female or child. Date: 1st to 2nd century AD
