1. Socketed axe, South-East class A. Small, incomplete; two joining fragments with a recent break. Double mouth moulding. Casting flashes intact. Blade edge corrosion chipped and missing in places. Expanded blade, blade tip hollows developed. Ridge down the centre of the internal face. L: 75.3mm; W. blade: 40.5mm; W. mouth: 35mm; Wt: 116.6g.

The 185 objects represented in this hoard include a wide variety of artefact types. There are 57 socketed axe fragments, of which four are complete or almost complete. The axes are of the South-Eastern type and most show signs of having been deliberately broken for inclusion in the hoard as scrap metal. Incomplete, socketed axe; South Eastern class A. Double mouth moulding. Blade tip hollows, expanded blade. The blade tip is missing on one side. Heavy diffuse bevelling on the lower blade where the blade begins to expand. There is a fine transverse crack on both sides at this point. Many very fine transverse and oblique lines close to the blade edge. Traces of the blade edge intact, otherwise the edge is corrosion chipped. The hoard is composed of five socketed axes, five fragments of Ewart Park swords, two fragments of Carp's Tongue swords from a minimum of three swords and three ingot fragments. The axes, which are all fragmentary, are of the South-Eastern type. Nos. 1-2 show signs of having been deliberately broken for inclusion as scrap metal. The faceted axe fragment (no. 5) belongs to a distinctive type with noticeably well-finished examples which have a very wide distribution.

A Late Iron Age-early Roman copper alloy one-piece bow brooch, probably a Nauheim derivative. The brooch is incomplete with the head and much of the foot plate missing. The brooch has a shallow bow and before terminating in a rounded point at the foot. The catch plate has mostly been broken off with only 5.8mm remaining. A Post-Medieval copper-alloy dress fastener. The head is circular in section and oval is plan with pointed terminals; it is 18.6mm wide and 7.5mm thick in the centre. From the centre of the head projects a narrow stem which is oval in section. The stem terminates in two circular loops, one on each side of the stem. It is 22.1mm long, 18.5mm wide, 7.3mm thick and weighs 6.5 grams.
Several similar examples have been recorded on the database, including WMID-905A14, SWYOR-131B66, HAMP-S40E35 and KENT-7B0A04.

A Roman cast copper-alloy handle from a twin bladed triangular razor. The handle is in the form of the head and neck of a griffin, with the head turned backwards. The griffin has forwards-pointing ears which follow the same line as the neck. The eyes are depicted by a horizontal engraved line within an elongated leaf-shaped moulding. A Roman cast copper alloy plumb bob, probably of 1st to 3rd century AD date. The plumb bob is conical in shape, with eight lobed, linear ribs arranged around the body, coming to a point at the base. The cone is 15.9mm long and 14.2mm in diameter at the thickest point. At the top of the cone the body narrows to cylindrical protrusion, 9.1mm in diameter, with a horizontal grove running around the circumference.
