A worked flint trancet axe formed from pale orange/brown flint and of probable Mesolithic date. It is loosely plano-convex in form and of tranchet type, although is relatively small in size. Both faces have all over invasive retouch and one side has a marked ridged back with small areas of cortex remaining. The cutting edge is convex in form with single flake removal from each face forming the cutting edge. This axe measures 105.84mm in length, 39.62mm in width, 30.42mm in thickness, and weighs 131.85g. It dates to the Mesolithic period, c.8,300-4,500 BC.
