An assemblage comprising 12 copper-alloy Roman coins, some of which appear to have been silvered. Precise identification of these coins is difficult from the photograph, not least because only one side of each coin is visible. Dr. Andrew Brown (pers. comm.) believes that some of the coins are of the House of Constantine, dating from the 330s and 340s, whereas others appear to be from the House of Valentinian (AD 364-378). It is possible that part of the assemblage is comprised of late 3rd century radiates, and there is also one larger, incomplete, coin which is of uncertain date. …
