A complete copper-alloy Roman Colchester derivative brooch, probably of the rear hook type. Only the upper part of the brooch survives. The head is mostly obscured by very heavy corrosion. The surviving part of the bow is D-shaped in cross-section and curved in profile. Its outer face is decorated with a central longitudinal ridge flanked on either side by a parallel raised line.
