A lead alloy spindle whorl probably of medieval date. The object is circular in plan and conical with a central circular perforation. The perforation has an internal diameter of 5.1mm. Each face is undecorated. The spindle whorl has a light white patina. Dimensions: 19mm in diameter, 4mm thick, 7.2g Similar examples of spindle whorls have reportedly been found in contexts dated from the Roman through to the Post-Medieval period although the majority are typically dated broadly to the medieval period c.1100-1500.

A lead alloy spindle whorl of medieval date. The object is circular in plan with a central circular perforation. The perforation has an internal diameter of 10mm. Each face is decorated with an eight pointed star with a pellet inside and outside of each point of the star. The outer edge of the object has been pressed inwards and the edge crimped forming an undulating rim. The spindle whorl has a light brown patina and is in good condition.
