TREASURE CASE 2017 T1121. Description: One post-medieval silver button from a pair of cuff links. The button element is circular in plan and depicts a moulded design comprising four hearts with a quatrefoil of four loops between them (Lewis: form 1, type F). The outer edge of the button would have had a down-turned rim however this rim has been clipped away, probably purposefully to harvest the silver. From the reverse of the button projects a sub-rectangular loop. Originally this would have joined to the opposing button by way of a silver chain link however neither element survives. …

Mint of Arles, mintmark PCON in exergue. Lightly clipped (clipping factor 1). This coin was discovered in close proximity to SUSS-F74487, an unclipped silver siliqua of Jovian struck at Lyon.
