A copper-alloy core from a plated gold Iron Age stater of the North Eastern Region / Catuvellauni, probably South Ferriby type, dating to the period c.50-20 BC. Obverse: Wreath, cloak, and crescents. Reverse: Disjointed horse left, 'anchor' face above, unclear motif below. cf. ABC p. 92, no. 1743 for the prototype. The coin appears to have a base metal with very minute traces of gold plating barely visible.

A gold Iron Age stater of the Western Region / Dobunni, dating to c. 60 BC - AD 40. Obverse: Tree symbol (with 5 branches on each side ending with pellet) with a pellet or ring at base and tip. Reverse: A six spoked wheel and horse of uncertain form. The reverse has extensive wear, as well as what appears to be deliberate defacing in the form of multiple short linear strokes or scratches/chisel marks that have removed the horse motif and any legend that may originally have existed. Cf. ABC p.103, no. 2003 passim for the type. Weight: 4.6gms Diameter: 16.8mm
