A complete but worn silver denarius of Mark Anthony, struck at a travelling mint, dating to the period c.32-31BC (Reece period 1). Obverse description: [ANT AVG] above and [II]I VI[R R P C] below; galley right. Reverse: Illegible. As RRC no. 544.
These coins were struck by Mark Antony for the use of his fleet and legions when he was preparing for the struggle with Octavius, which culminated in the Battle of Actium on the 2nd of September, 31 BC (Grueber, 1970, 526). Some legionary denarii remained in circulation until the 3rd century AD.

A very worn silver Roman denarius, probably of uncertain late Republican to early Imperial date, dating to the period c.100 BC-AD 96. Reverse type depicing Victory(?) standing left holding unclear object in outstretched right hand, uncertain object in left, [...]O[...] in field to right. The obverse is uncertain and has perhaps been double struck or suffered from damage (burning?) either during the lifetime of the coin or post-depositional. Cf. RRC no. 516/5 for a possibly similar reverse type.

A complete silver-plated, bronze-cored contemporary copy of a denarius of P. Clodius M.f. Turrinus, dating to c. 42 BC (Reece period 1). Obverse: Laureate head of Apollo right, lyre behind.
