A silver Roman denarius of Trajan (AD 98-117), contemporary copy, dating to the period AD 100-111 (Reece period 5). P M TR P COS III P P reverse type depicting Vesta seated left holding patera and torch.
This coin appears to be a contemporary copy and combines an early reverse dating to AD 100 (cf. RIC II, p. 247, no. 40), with an obverse dating to AD 103-111 following Trajan's Dacian campaigns in AD 101-102 and 105-106 (see RIC II, pp. 236-238).
Diameter: 18.24mm, Thickness: 2.17mm, Weight: 2.3g.
