Probably DE GERM or DE SARM (in exergue), IMP VIII COS III P P, S C reverse type depicting a trophy, at the base of which are seated a German or Sarmatian woman and man with his hands bound. A Roman copper-alloy dupondius of Antoninus Pius (AD 138-161), dating to the period AD 154-155 (Reece period 7). LIBERTAS COS IIII S C reverse type depicting Libertas standing right holding pileus and extending left hand. Mint of Rome. As RIC III, p. 142, no. 932. This is a coin of British association similar to examples noted by D. Walker at the Sacred Spring in Bath, Walker, 1988: pp. 294, 297, no. 27, pl. XXXV. This is an unsually clear specimen.
