An incomplete Medieval copper alloy seal matrix, dating AD1100-1450. The seal die is circular with a faceted handle and a loop at the top, which is now broken. There is a double collar separating the handle from the loop. The die depicts a bird, probably a bird of prey, on a gloved hand. This suggests a falconry scene. The inscription reads RECLAMAT LE MVSCHET - "Call back the sparrow-hawk." This is a clear reference to the falconry emblem. Therefore, the seal matrix may once have belonged to a falconer.
No parallels for the inscription have been found, though many seal matrices wi…

A copper alloy seal matrix dating from the Medieval period, AD 1200 - 1400. The engraved circular matrix has a conical, faceted handle terminating in a transverse double collar, above which is a lozenge shaped suspension loop with a central perforation. There is some edge damage to the matrix as a result of corrosion and abrasion, and the legend is illegible. The central motif is also unclear. It appears to depict two creatures, perhaps a lion and a bird, or a hound and a hawk. The matix is 16.4mm diameter, 22mm tall and 6.7g.

A fragment of a copper alloy post-medieval scale tang knife handle. The fragment is semi-circular in cross section and expands slightly at one end.
