Probable Medieval (12th to 15th centuries) badge: The lead alloy badge is incomplete, missing the pin on the reverse. The badge depicts a probable swan or dragon from the side view, its long neck bends downwards in front of the body, one wing is partially open, and it is stood on a branch. The swan is within a circular, D-sectioned frame which has four lis knops, equi-distant. The right-hand edge of the badge is bent forwards. A cast lead-alloy badge dating from the later medieval or early post medieval period. The openwork badge is sub-circular in shape and broadly flat. The front of the badge is highly detailed. A cast pewter religious badge riveted to a brittle tinned-lead spacer and sheet. The sheet and badge are both circular in shape, and the badge is centered on the sheet, which has a border of 3mm maximum around the circumference of the badge. The sheet is chipped in many places so that this border is missing. The rivets cannot be seen from the front of badge, but are clearly visible on the reverse. The badge is highly detailed.
