An early-medieval silver early penny (sceat) of Secondary Phase type 30b/8 'mule' (Naismith Series FBc) dating to c.AD720-30, mint: uncertain (possibly East Midlands). Refs: Naismith 2017: 77 (table 4), 86 (figure 86), pl. 19 nos 584-5; Abramson 2018: pl. 33, nos 768-9, esp. 769 (same reverse design and off-centre hair parting on obverse).
Obverse: Crude facing, radiate 'Wodan' head with flowing hair. Reverse: Degenerate, beaded standard enclosing right angles and central pellet-in-annulet with pellet cross.
The coin measure 12 mm in diameter and weighs 1 gram.

Description: Obverse: Radiate bust right, crescent ear. annulet either side of broken A, pellets behind low pyramidal beaded neck on linear and beaded exergual line. Legend: 'Tᚨᛈᚨ' , AEPA inscription, letters retrograde. Reverse: Beaded votive with downwards sloping horns standard enclosing, central annulet and tufa enclosing trefoil with cross pattee below, symbols or letters to sides.

A probable contemprorary copy of an Early Medieval Secondary phase, series J sceat dating to c. 710 - 760 AD. A copper alloy core with traces of silver coating. Two heads facing with a cross between them in the obverse and a central cross with swirling concentric and radiating lines around.

An early-medieval silver sceat, dating to the period c.AD 720-745. It is a series H, type 39 Cc11 depicting on the obverse a pecking bird in beaded foliage facing right, wing raised and feet splayed. On the reverse there is a void Celtic cross encompassing four rosettes, solid line border on the inside, beaded border on the outside and central pellet within. Abramson 46.10 var, probably Hamwic mint.
