A 14th century medieval 'Lombard' jetton of a lead alloy. Objects of this type were used for the reckoning of debts on a counting board, especially in European financial institutions of the 13-16th century. This particular example is Italian and possibly refers to the Riccardi family, dating to the 14th century. The legend is clearly visible but the letters are in a meaningless order and in some cases retrograde (backwards), sugessting it is likely to be a fictious legend type.
