A complete silver Roman denarius of Julia Mamea, dating to 222-235 AD (Reece period 11). Mint of Rome. Reverse: IVNO CONSERVATRIX, Juno standing left holding patera in right hand and sceptre in left hand, peacock at feet. RIC IV, pt 2, p. 98, no. 343. The coin is preserved in very good condition, though some greenish corrosion products related to debasement are visible, especially on the reverse face.

A complete plated silver denarius (contemporary copy) of Severus Alexander (AD 221-35) dating to c. AD 224-227 (Reece Period 11). Prototype from mint of Rome. Reverse; PM TR P VI COS II P P, Emperor standing left togate, sacrificing over an altar. RIC IV, pt 2, p. 75, cf. no. 70. A small part of the coin has broken away at c. 10 o'clock on the reverse revealing what appears to be a copper-alloy core, which is supported by the low weight of this piece. It is therefore suggested that this particular denarius is a contemporary forgery rather than an official issue.
