A complete moderately patinated Tranchet axe of Mesolithic date. It is an elongated oval with rounded butt. The blade is crescentic blade with a roughly D-shaped cross-section as the dorsal face is flat. There are signs of modern damage on all faces. Circa 15% cortex remaining. An incomplete bi-facially worked leading edge rough out of a flint axe of Later Neolithic date. Only the distal end survives, the remainder of the object is missing due to old breaks, now worn. It is struck from a mid-grey flint. It has a crescentic blade with a lenticular cross-section. There is a large hinge fracture where it terminates in old breaks. Circa 15% cortex remaining. This hand axe measures 26.42mm in length, 43.30mm in width, 12.74mm in thickness, 15.70g in weight.
