A cast copper alloy mount dating from the Medieval to Post Medieval periods (1100 - 1700 AD). The mount is circular with a central convex boss and eight evenly spaced protruding lobed knops. The reverse is concave and undecorated. In the centre of the reverse there is an integrally cast sharp spike. The spike tapers to a point and is bent over so that it slightly protrudes between two of the lobed knops. The mount measures 36mm in diameter.
