Folded gold strip or diadem. Soil remains wedged between layers. The object has been folded up and consists of 5-6 layers. The tapering tip of one end of the strip is visible on the outside of the folded bundle. Lines of pointillé decoration run along both edges of the strip and meet at the terminal. Description: A rectangular piece of gold sheet, perhaps 'ribbon', 0.3mm in thickness, of probable Bronze Age date. One long edge is original while one short edge is bent over c.2mm to the reverse and appears to be cut. The remaining two edges are a little more jagged and it is uncertain is these are cut or breaks (although in shape they are uniformly straight). Description: Gold unidentified ornament of Bronze Age date. The object consists of a strip of sheet gold formed into the shape of a pointed oval. At either end, the long edges of the band have been folded inwards in order to create the pointed terminals. Near the tip of each terminal is a circular perforation. Two fragments of apparently originally-joining gold band or ribbon dating to the Middle to Late Bronze Age (c. 1600-800 BC). Both fragments are parallel-sided and of rectangular shape, the smaller fragment having a jagged break at either end and the longer having one jagged break and one straight cut. An incomplete strip of decorated gold, of probable Bronze Age dating (c. 2150 BC to c. 1150 BC). The strip of gold is sub rectangular in plan, and is folded longitudinally (length ways) in half. The strip has been decorated with a series of embossed ridges along its length. The strip has been severed at both ends, one edge straight and the other ragged. A small fragment has broken off the larger object. The larger fragment measures 23.06 mm in length, 8.06 mm wide and 7.74 mm thick. The strip is 0.81 mm thick. It weighs 1.2 g. A gold fragment of parallel sided strip or ribbon. The ribbon is rectangular in plan and made from a sheet of gold. One side of the ribbon is decorated with four regular, longitudinal, incised grooves. The other side of the ribbon is plain with some light scratches. The ribbon is slightly contorted indicating that the ribbon may have been folded and then un-folded. The damage is not new. One end has a neat, flat-ended terminal with sharp 90 degree corners implying the original finish.
