A group of five silver medieval voided long cross pennies of Henry III (AD 1216-1272), three of which are fully fused. Two additional fragments of two different coins were found together with the fused coins.

Two complete silver short-cross pennies of Henry III (1216 - 1272) that were discovered together. Both are slightly off struck and are covered in an iron deposit.
Coin 1 (top of image):
Class 7b2 (1229-32) minted by Sidmund of Bury St Edmunds (North no. 979).
Obverse: 'hENRICVS [REX]'; Crowned frontally facing bust, holding a sceptre in right hand.
Reverse: '[SI]HVNDONSANT'; Voided short-cross with quatrefoil in each quadrant.

Six silver Edward III groats have been reported in 2014 from the same site and have been submitted for consideration as treasure.
Coin 1 is a silver Edward III groat of series D. Normal R, E and C closed. Initial mark is cross 1a. Date is 1352-53. Mint is York. N 1153. This coin appears to be a true coin and not a mule.
The diameter is 28mm and the weight 4.33g.
