British Museum Report: Description: 1.Long thin copper alloy strip bent into a U-shape in a plane perpendicular to the width of the strip. The strip terminates at one end with an oval terminal with strap loop in the same plane as the strip. The other end is broken off. The outer surface of the strip is engraved with two parallel lines that run down the centre. The narrow area between these lines is hatched with short perpendicular engraved lines, giving a ladder effect. A cast copper alloy unidentified object of Iron Age date. The object is a squashed lyre loop shape with tightly looped terminals which curve back inwards to join the body of the lyre loop. Iron corrosion is present over most of the curved outer edge with a high concentration to the apex suggesting the presence of an iron core and apex projection. The metal has a light brownish-green patina and a is worn. The object is 39.6mm long, 26.4mm wide, 12.9mm thick and weighs 26.7g. Treasure case number 2011 T527 On 25th July 2011, a hoard of Iron Age metalwork (finds 1, 2, 4 and 6) was found by [two metal detectorists] while metal detecting on cultivated land. [Finder One] also made two additional finds (3 and 5) on the 20th September 2011 during geophysical survey of the findspot undertaken by York Archaeological Trust and a local archaeology group. The initial results from the resistivity survey show a rectangular feature to the immediate south of the finds.
