Four copper alloy rings found together as a group in context. There are two larger and two smaller rings. One of the larger rings is broken and incomplete. One of the smaller rings is also incomplete and has part of an iron object still attached and iron corrosion adhering to the others suggests they were also linked by iron pieces. Ring 1: Lozenge shaped in cross section with clear fold lines around the central ridge on the inner side of the ring and file marks on the inner face from forming. Cylindrical copper alloy ingot with circular cross-section. The object gently tapers from a wider end terminating in a flat angled surface to a rounded, slightly narrower, opposite end. On the wider end there is a small area of abrasion where material was removed for testing by a jeweller before the object was submitted as Treasure. The surface of the object is pitted and slightly worn. X-ray fluorescence analysis of the surface identified the metal as an alloy of copper with a few percent of zinc, lead, and tin.
