It weighs 1.06g. See North number 191 and compare DUR-397205. The central motif is a pellet surrounded by 7 pellets on the obverse, and a single pellet on the reverse. The legends are blundered.

Quadruped right reverse type, lion raising forepaw. North vol 1, p. 70, no. 177. Abramson p. 44, no. Y050. The coin has broken into two unequal halves, which are differently patinated. Some of the lettering is obscured by corrosion. It is 12.5mm in diameter and 1.6mm thick. It weighs 0.8g. Compare YORYM-D31CB6.

The coin is mostly illegible, with the central motifs and one inscription no longer legible. The extant partial legend probably reads [---] ED R[...], very tentatively suggesting, if this is on the obverse, a regal issue of either Aethelred (EDILRED) II, AD 840-848, or of Eanred (AD 810-840). The legends are in large, clear letters where unworn; both legends are retrograde. The obverse reads +ERDVA(D)H; reverse reads +HVA[...]RD. The reverse legend may relate to the moneyer Huæetred (or Hwætræd). The obverse legend is unclear as to whom it may relate to, but Huæetred minted for Eanred (AD 810 - 840).
