A Post Medieval small iron probable cannon shot, probably dating from AD 1550 - 1900. It is spherical and has evidence of some corrosion on the surface. The ball is 60.6mm in diameter and weighs 923g. The size and weight suggest that this could be for use in a cannon such as a Falcon which had a 2.5 inch bore and fired a 2lb ball. There is no evidence of impact. See the finds recording guide for further detail on cannon balls: https://finds.org.uk/counties/findsrecordingguides/shot/.
