A flint Mesolithic core rejuvenation flake, dating from 8000 BC - 4000 BC, which has been reused in the late Mesolithic as a core, and at a later date as a scraper. The core rejuvenation flake is light grey flint and is sub-circular in plan. The dorsal face is covered with removal scars which produced small flakes and blades. The distal end appears to have been a striking platform. The ventral face of the core rejuvenation flake was then used as a core itself, to produce narrow blades, which are struck from the distal end. Finally, the core was reused at a later date in either the Lat…

It is formed on a tertiary flake of mottled black and grey flint and is not patinated. It is sub-rectangular in plan and sub-trapezoid in cross-section. There are removal scars on the dorsal face and the distal end, including on the distal end of the ventral face. There is also short, abrupt sub-parallel retouch on both long edges. The flake is 31.3mm long, 22.9mm wide and 4.9mm thick. 4.07g.

A flint core rejuvenation flake of Mesolithic or Neolithic date, about 9000 BC - 2200 BC. The flake is formed on light grey mottled opaque flint with large white inclusions but no patination. The distal end and left side are battered. The flint is a rounded rectangle in plan and is D shaped in section. It is much thicker at the distal end. There are removals from the proximal end which are the ends of blade removals. They are from the dorsal face, stepped, long and abrupt. The battering damage has caused fractures and crazing of the stone. It is 50.9mm long, 36.4mm wide and 18.3mm thi…

A flint core with evidence of just one blade removal of probable Mesolithic or Neolithic date. The core has suffered heat alteration causing crazing and discolouration, and damage from unintentioinal impact leaving "battered" surfaces. Patches of cortex survive which are cream coloured; the rest of the flint is pink and crazed with a partial white patina.
