Modern (19th century) undecorated gold finger ring; the band is circular with a 'D' shaped cross section. It is 20.17mm in diameter, 4.43mm wide, 1.93mm thick and weighs 6.04 grams. The inside of the band has a line of four marks. The lefthand mark is the maker’s mark formed of two initials (it is unclear whether it is “A.I” or “I.V”) within a rectangle. The next mark is the duty mark, which was only used from 1784-1890. The mark consists of the head of the reigning sovereign in profile. Modern silver fob, dating to 1914. It is sub-oval in plan, with a suspension loop at its apex. There is a scroll work border with a central shield shaped section, which is covered in deliberate scratches, possibly used to help attach precious stone or paste. The reverse has undclear lettering just below the suspension loop, possibly reading [PI]ONEE[R] BROMPTON. The base of the reverse has a line of three stamped marks: the first is a lion oassant, followed by the City mark of Chester (coat of arms) followed by an 'O' in a rectangle. Modern gold finger ring, with openwork lozenge bezel set with a small stone. The circular band is plain and undecorated. The inside of the band has the hallmark 750 in lozenge / (five pointed star)18 AR in rectangle / CD in oval Both the 750 and 18 relate to the purity, which in this case is 18 carat gold.
