A Post-medieval silver shilling of Elizabeth I dating from AD1560-61. Mintmark: martlet. North 1986. The obverse shows the queens bust and bears the legend: ELIZABETH D G ANG FRA AT HIB REGINA The reverse has the royal shield and the legend: POSVI DEV ADICTOREM MEV. The coin is is good condition, and shows no evidence of clipping however there are two scratches across the obverse. Diameter 31mm, Weight 6.20g.

It appears to have been folded at some stage, possibly for use as a love token in the eighteenth to nineteenth centuries.
