Treasure Case: 2019 T701 Two sets of fragments of a pair of joined Elizabethan shillings. The coins are joined so that the reverse is facing outwards, but this is without a date, possibly indicating the first issue. Reverse 1: POSVI [DEV ADIV]TOREM MEV; long cross over square shield. Reverse 2: obscured due to copper alloy corrosion adhering to the surface. The copper alloy may be a degraded base metal coin however it is not possible to be certain. Treasure Case 2019 T699 A silver pin of Early Medieval date (c. 700-c. 900) . The object is a polyhedral headed pin and is complete. The decorated head of the pin is cuboid in form and the corners have been cut off (chamfered) to form 13 facets. There is no visible collar beneath the head. The shaft is circular in cross-section and has a slight bend in the centre. The shaft terminates in a rounded point which is still sharp. A complete Post Medieval silver gilt dress pin with hollow-cast spherical head, c. 16th century AD. The pin has been drawn from a thick silver wire, measuring 3mm in diameter. The pin terminates with a break which appears to be recent. The spherical head measures 15 mm in diameter and has filigree and applied knop decoration. It has been divided by a double raised border of possibly twisted wire filigree. An unidentified silver object of probable 18th century date. It is possibly a thumb piece or handle from a drinking vessel, the remainer of which is missing due to old breaks. The object consists of a flat oval panel connected to a curved rectangular cross-sectioned arm which terminates in an old break. The oval panel has a moulded, raised bust on each side. A medieval silver stirrup-shaped finger-ring, with a high bezel engraved with a cross pattée. The shoulders are engraved with straight lines which radiate towards the bezel. Each side of the hoop is engraved with a slightly different geometric design: one side bears a zigzag design with punched decoration within each triangular field; the other side a lozenge design, with similar punched decoration within each field. Niello survives mainly within the engraved and punched areas. The back of the hoop is plain.
