A comtemporary copy of a nummus of Magnentius, possibly a protype of the Lyon mint struck between 352-55AD, Reece period 18.
Obverse has the Emperor facing right [D N MAGNENTIVS PF AVG], and the reverse has two victories holding a shield inscribed VOT V MVLTX and a chi-rho above. There is an I beneath the shield and above the exerge.

A Roman copper alloy nummus (AE4), probably of Magnentius (AD 350-353), probably a contemporary copy. The coin has a very small, cut down flan. The reverse probably depicted the Chi-ro Christian symbol. Dimensions: diameter 9mm; weight 0.74g
This object is part of a much larger collection that was found over twenty-five years of fieldwalking over the same site.
