Medieval copper alloy buckle with plate and sheet roller. The frame is rectangular in plan with a sheet roller on the forward edge. The strap bar is recessed. The plate is sheet copper alloy, broadly rectangular in plan and has been bent in half to fit around the strap bar. There are two rivets one towards the forward edge and one at the rear of the plate, both are encrusted with iron corrosion. The pin is missing. It is a MEOLS (2007: 84) type D buckle with plate and a similar buckle is shown (ibid: 99), no. 723 which are attributed to the late 14th century.
