A post medieval silver 4 sols (2 deniers) of Louis XIV of France (1643-1715), dating to 1693 (Duplessy 1519), mint uncertain owing to wear on coin. Ref: Duplessy 1988.
The coin is very worn, with much of the design and inscription missing or faint. It has two gentle folds to form a shallow S-shape suggesting it was bent into a love token.
Diameter: 19.41mm; thickness: 0.63mm and weight: 1.03g.

The coin is very worn and lightly clipped removing almost all of the obverse design and inscription and around half of the reverse design/inscription is also now illegible. The coin is untidily pierced towards the top of the obverse (from back to front, with a burr of silver left on the obverse).
