A cast copper alloy toggle clasp, dating to the 16th / 17th century. The mount is triangular in form with two open circles cut out from each long side at the top and bottom. There is a three-pronged crown design on each side between these open circles, with a central circular hole between for decoration. There is one rivet hole towards the base of the clasp that retains an iron rivet, the base is crenellated while the peak has a rounded knop which would have slotted into a clasp attachment, now missing. A square trader's token issued by William Burges of Buckinghamshire in (AD) 1670. The token depicts a turbaned man pouring coffee, flanked by the date, 1670. The reverse has five lines of Script: William / Burges in / Aili[] / his half / Peny. Other 17th century square tokens often held the value of a halfpenny. A fragment of a cast copper alloy strap fitting for a sword belt, dating to the Post-Medieval period. The fragment consists of the lower part of a shield-shaped plate with concaved sides and a rounded base with the stub of a hook projecting from the centre. The front face of the plate is decorated with a symmetrical foliage design in moulded relief. The design vaguely resembles leaves of the vine. The reverse is plain and undecorated. This type of fitting would have been attached to a scabbard strap. Read (2008: 219, no. 790) illustrates a similar mount which he dates to the 16th or 1…
