An incomplete medieval (1260-1500) copper alloy heraldic shield shaped Harness Mount 'Chequy', missing one corner, all of its enamel and gilded or silvering decoration, and most of the integral attachment spike. It measures 37.50x28.71x3.85mm and weighs 11.02g. The mount is 2.13mm thick and decorated with 6 rows of alternating squares in a checkerboard patter. The raised squares would have been gilded or silvered (Or or Argent) and the slightly recessed areas would have been filled with a coloured enamel. It is blazoned bend azure on engrailed cross gules impaling three bends gules, and is probably the arms for a marriage (Laura Burnett pers.comm. 2012) . Medieval copper alloy gilt and enameled horse harness pendant and silvered pendant hanger, together measuring 55.59mm in length and weighing 15.98g. The pendant hanger is T-shaped and triangular in section with a split cylindrical projection at the bottom of the stem. The cross bar measures 19.21x9.13x2.88mm and the stem 6.04x7.95x4.15mm, excluding the cylindrical projection which is 5.92mm in diameter and 7.36mm in horizontal length. A Roman or Post-Medieval copper alloy finger-ring with rectangular bezel, the hoop of which is now slightly squashed out of shape. It measures 21.18x15.79mm and would have originally measured c.20.5mm in diameter. It weighs 1.15g. The bezel measures 11.91x4.40x2.49mm and is decorated with two longitudinal ribs with tiny transverse grooves at the highest point. An incomplete Medieval (1400-1450) copper alloy composite crescentic strap end with trefoil projection, missing its backplate. It measures 42.85x29.53x2.95mm and weighs 8.7g. The cast upper plate is crescental with remains of iron rivets at the points where the crescent ends join to form a circle. Incomplete and probably Medieval lead seal matrix, probably originally circular, with a c.5mm diameter hole pierced close to one edge. It weighs 45.77g and measures 41.57x33.21x5.24mm. A fragment of Post-Medieval (late 17th or 18th century) copper alloy small spoon, consisting of part of the handle and terminal only. It measures 35.35x11.21x4.64mm and weighs 2.4g. The main body of this object is an elongated triangle in shape, flat in cross-section. The top edge is curved and also curves slightly backwards. An incomplete probably Post-Medieval (1500-1700) openwork probable strap distributor with domed centre boss. It is missing just less than half. Measures 29.28x29.04x8.13mm and weighs 6.7g. A cast copper-alloy double-looped buckle frame of medieval to early post-medieval date. The frame is formed of two conjoined ovals such that the sides incurve. The frame is bevelled both internally and externally on the upper surface, the latter more shallowly; the lower surface is flat. The pin bar thus has a trapezoidal cross-section, it is bent upwards slightly. The pin is missing.
