A copper-alloy Post Medieval hooked clasp sword belt fitting dating to 1500 to 1650. The fitting is the 'eye' and not the 'hook'. The body of the fitting would have been sub-rectangular but has two breaks one in each corner, the piece tapers into the 'eye' loop by a double moulded crescent. The outer face is decorated with two raised, rounded domes (now corroded) placed above the rivets. There are two rivet holes on the reverse both are encrusted with iron corrosion. A cast copper-alloy spout possibly from a tap or a ewer of later medieval or post-medieval date. The hollow spout is tubular, curving gradually, with a transverse ridge on the upper surface, running across half of the spout. One face of the ridge has a rough edge and probably the ridge indicated where it was joined to the vessel. The copper alloy now has a light green patina interspersed with black. Part of a Post Medieval copper alloy double loop oval buckle dating from c AD1500-1650. One loop is missing at an old, worn break. The central strap bar is narrowed with a small moulded knop at either end. The pin is missing. The front of the frame has bevelled edges and the back is flat and undecorated. A small, complete Medieval to Post Medieval copper alloy double loop oval buckle dating to c. 1350 to 1650. The loops are oval with slightly expanded outer edges. The frame is D-shaped in cross section. The frame has bevelled inside and outside edges and there is a pin rest at each side of the frame. Toggle-clasps have two sections which lock together, one with an eye and the other with a toggle-bar; this artefact is the section with a toggle-bar. The symbol consists of a stamped grid style pattern enclosed in a circle of about 12.3mm in diameter. The back is plain. The weight is light grey in colour. An incomplete dress or hair pin of early Post-Medieval date. The pin has a copper alloy globular head made of two hempisherical halves. The weight suggests if they are formed of shet they contain some lead solder or similar. The shaft if aslo copper alloy and goes right through the head with the top visible at the top of the head, although level with it. A Post Medieval copper alloy coin weight of James I (AD1603-1625). The weight is flat and square in shape. The obverse has a bust facing right with the letters I R to left, inscription to right ilegible, all within a circle of pellets. The reverse shows a crown above the numerals XI for 11 shillings. The weight measures 14.98mm x 14.72mm is 3.17mm in thickness and weighs 4.34g, 66.8grains. The bowl of a post-medieval clay tobacco pipe broken at its junction with the stem. The bowl is swollen, convex curved between the mouth and heel on both sides and projects out over the heel. The mouth is parallel to the stem. The sub-oval flat heel projects only a little from the base of the bowl and is wider and longer than the base, starting level with the stem. A post medieval clay tobacco pipe dating to the period c AD1680 to 1720. Most of the bowl is missing but the heel is stamped with the makers mark: WILL/ PITCH/ER in three lines within a pellet circle. The stem is broken at an old break. The pipe measures 51.3mm in length, 14.7 in width and weighs 6.37g. William Pitcher is listed as a maker from Beaminster in Dorset active c.1700 (Oswald 1975 p167).
