Seventeenth century traders token of Lewis Williams of Chester dating to 1667. Williamson (1889) and Dickinson (1984) catalogue a half penny of Lewis Williams of Chester but not a penny. It appears from the spacing of the words on the obverse that this token has been converted into a penny from a half penny (by removing the word HALF from between HIS and PENY, either by a change on the die or on the token. A Post Medieval lead bifaced token or possibly weight probably dating to between c. AD1500 - 1800 of Powell type 2. One side bears the raised letters L O retrograde with a line underneath. The other face is less clear and has at least two vertical lines separated by a pellet, one joining a horizontal line, probably an H or a 4. It measures 26.4mm in diameter and weighs 18.9g, about one third of an ouce.
