A probable Medieval Irish silver coin: probably a penny of Edward IV (1461-1483); probably minted in Dublin. The coin is clipped and worn. The obverse shows a mullet to the right of the crown and indistinct symbols on each side of the neck. The reverse shows a long cross with a quatrefoil with a pellet in the centre and three pellets in each angle. The coin may well be a contemporary copy because the reverse legend looks to be a series of Vs and As or Ds rather than a normal legend. The pellets are also unconvincing.
