Medieval Horse Harness Pendant: Complete but worn cast copper alloy and enamel shield-shaped horse harness pendant. The front of the shield carries the design of a backward looking white wyvern (2 legged, winged dragon with a long tail) set against a blue or green background with a single 6 lobed white mullet in the upper right hand corner. The integrally cast suspension loop is set at a right angle to the shield at the midpoint of the upper edge.
Harness pendants of this type are dated c.1200-1400.
